Where do I find the female receptacle for the engine block heater male plug that is hanging in my electrical compartment? I did a search and found mention of it in previous posts but not where it is located. My dealer couldn't find it and the techs said they have never seen one in any of the Journeys they have delivered.

Most block heater cords I have seen are plugged into a extention cord to a pedestal outlet. If your main service cable is plug in now you could install an outlet from another or service main in coach, into engine chamber if you don't have one. "007"

My Operator Manual sez, "The power cord is located in the rear cargo compartment on the driver side of the coach. When plugged into the receptacle, the heater is connected to both the shoreline and the auxiliary generator, so a separate extension cord is not needed."

I have the power cord but I can't find the receptacle to plug it into.

James,

Working from memory here cause my 36G is in storage right now. I have a receptacle in the electrical compartment. I think there is a "box" type structure in the top of the compartment that houses the water pump switch and light switch. I believe the receptacle in on the aft end of that "box" facing aft. I know it's there somewhere because I have used it for other purposes.

It is down in the elec compartment. Kind of hidden off to the side. It just looks like a normal 2 plug outlet. just went and looked at it. Pluged mine in because I also use it for a different reason in the summer.

Thanks for the info but could you be a little more specific. Is it mounted on the forward wall of the compartment, the inside wall or the aft wall, or is it mounted someplace else?

Guess what, I finally found the power receptacle for the engine block heater.

In the electrical compartment, the aft bay on the driver's side, there is a black metal box attached to the ceiling of the compartment.

On the side you can see when you open the compartment there are two switches, Lights and Water Pump. Also, there are plugs for Telephone, Sat TV and Cable TV. The compartment light is on the bottom of this black box. The receptacle for the engine block heater is on the aft end of the black box. I needed a flashlight to see it.

Thanks all for your help.
