Dyna 28" Wipers
Has anyone found an "off the shelf" wiper blade to use on the Dyna 12x4 J-hook? Every blade I've tried does not have a hole in the middle that is big enough for the Dyna J-Hook. It seems like if you could ground down the width of the J-Hook arm then most commercially available wiper replacements would fit. As it is presently, a new Dyna wiper blade costs $31 with shipping which is more than 2 to 3 times higher than most wiper replacements I can find at Walmartr or other stores. The Dyna arm seems to be the only arm in the inductry that is so large.
Thanks for any insight on this.
John

Trico 67 Series RV wiper Blade 28", 67-284
Goes right on, better than those Dyna.....Gotm mine at CW on sale a few months ago, the original blades both went on trip to Port Aransas, TX and I could not find any that fit around the area, fortunately it did not rain on the way home..

Thanks Gary. Nice to know of another brand that fits but the price is still high. I think I will look into replacing the 'arm' with one that will then allow me to use a Bosch or other normal 28 inch brand. I'm thinking there must be a way to maybe connect a different J-Hook to the end of the current arm.
Ahhh...another home made engineering project.

Once you buy the complete blade, inserts can then be used after that

I just replaced the inserts in my 28" HD J Arm blades as I could not find reasonably priced blade assemblies. NAPA had the inserts for about $8 each and they slid right in the old blade assemblies.

I got a set of Bosch 28" at Walmart and transferred the plastic lock clip form the Dana to the new Bosch set. They fit fine.

Just went through this last week. I went on Trico's website, they have a "Find your wiper size" guide. Link here
Then went up to NAPA and cross referenced it. Our Adventurer takes 24" blades so the NAPA number is 60-2480.
Installed them before our weekend out and they work like a charm. Also the construction is quite heavy.

My local NAPA store could not find the blades with the wider J hook, that is why they checked on the refills which they did have.
Good Luck,
David

Yoda - your price of $8 makes me smile So you are saying I can buy the rubber inserts for the original Dyna blade? Do you happen to know the item number by chance, or did you just ask them for Dyna inserts?
Thanks!

I purchased 2 sets since I had trouble finding them, but they are in the motorhome at the storage facility so I do not have the NAPA #. What I did was take one of the wiper blades to the NAPA store and they determined the correct insert. They were sold in pairs for about $8.
If you have trouble locating them, I can get the NAPA # when I go to the RV next time.
Safe Travels,
David

I guess NAPA is like any other parts store, the one I tried while in TX could not match the Dyna blade with either a new blade assembly or insert

I first tried a set of NAPA complete blades and found that the gap where the J hook goes, is too narrow. I did find that the clip lock is removable from the Dyna blade and transfers to a Bosch and probably others as well.

Finally went to my storage building this weekend and took a couple pictures of the NAPA refills. The NAPA # is 60-2898. They are a snug fit in the DYNA arms but they do fit as you can see, and they list for $6.99 for a pair. I bought 3 pair, just in case I can't find them next time.
Safe Travels,
David

Thanks for getting the part number. I will definitely order a pair and give them a try. If they stay working for even 6 months then it's the best solution I can find. While the Dyna really are a good heavy duty wiper, the cost is unbearable.
Happy motoring!
