Door Hinge

The bathroom door has an 8" hinge that has 2 springs on it. It is so the door will swing open. I have 5 of those spring hinges with broken springs. When ever I need to replace the springs I have to buy a new hinge. I have paid from $5.00 to $25.00 for these hinges. Does anyone know where I can find these springs?? I think most winnebago's have this hinge. Thank You

We need springs too for our Itasca. Hopefully someone will know where to find them.

Happy Holidays

If you have a couple of hinges with one of the two springs unbroken, the rod can be removed from the hinge and the unbroken one used on the other hinge with an unbroken spring.
One end of the rod has been upset (smushed out flat) and can be pulled out from that end.

I have picked up two or three of the hinges each time I was at the factory and a couple from Lichtsinn.

I really wish I could find just the springs without having to buy the whole hinge.

Wondering....
There have been tons of retrofits for lots of RV stuff, why not hinges?

My door has the springs incorporated into several piano hinges. Maybe you could replace your entire length of hinges with a regular piano hinge and no springs.?? If so, piano hinges are readly available at good hardware stores.

I do use up the springs by changing them around but I have now used them all up. Thank you all who answered and it is good to know that I am not the only one with broken springs. I am sorry but I do not know how to post a picture.

Hinge 19" x 19". 129753-01-01A Hinge, Spring Loaded, Black Zinc

I found this in the Itasca Winnebago parts catalog. But ours is gold colored brass, not black.

Post Photo of spring,, Odds are that a stock spring from a hardware store, A couple pair of the right kind of pliars and a propane torch and you can home brew whatever you need.

Been there, done that on some other stuff.

Try Lichshinn Motors in Forest City, Iowa. If they can't get it, it can't be got.

My 08 never had a spring. But my wife wanted a way to hold the door open against the wall. I installed a cupboard door magnet at the bottom of the door. It's plenty strong to hold the door in the open position yet it is easy to close the door. Total cost about $2.
