Diesel engine heater

Sitting here in 26 degree weather. Rig is winterized. Leaving for Florida in 5 days,is there any reason I shouldn't leave the engine heater on 24 -7 until I leave or is it not necessary waste of electricity. Or should I turn it on the day before. <br />
Thanks for any imput.

Leave it on or not. It doesn't draw much power and it will insure the engine will start. You can also just turn it on a couple days prior as well.

Your engine should have pre heat coils in the air intake as well. They activate when you turn on the key.
