The microwave saga has almost ended as the new microwave was just installed. Glad I got a trusted RV tech to do it for me as I would never have figured out how to remove the old one.

I replaced my Sharp R-1850A with an exact replacement the model Sharp R-1875. Fit perfectly and the tech said it was a much easier job than usual replacements as he didn't have to make any modifications.

The only negative was that the microwave vent cover was broken in transit. I am now off to Home Depot to get a new one ordered. Thanks for all of the suggestions, especially Neil V who provided me with the link.
