Dash Pod Ground Bar

On my W24 G38J, I have intermittent defrost fans, video display, power window and temp/compass display. From the Winnebago "All wiring package", page 24, sheet 2 of 152112, I may have loose grounds at the "under dash pod" ground bar.

PROBLEM: I got the dash pod cover off and can not find any 'ground bar' "located under the dash pod". Any tips on locating the 'ground bar' or solving my intermittent electrical problem?

I have verified the ground bar to frame connections at the battery box under the steps.

My grounding point is located to the right of my steering wheel .

This point is located almost behind the rear view display.

Driver thanks for response and pictures. Behind my video display is a switcher for the side cameras. I removed this video switcher to look underneath it. I still can not find any ground point.

So far, only sensitive wires, movement that causes or cures the problem, are the large cable into the underhood fuse/relay box. I disassemblyed this underhood fuse box, could not find any sensitive areas in the box.

Still looking for any common ground points in the front of the coach/dash area.

Driver, I found my ground points. One black wire top center of steering support bracket, wire connected by sheet metal screw. Main point is behind the grade switch, on the firewall. This is nut and bolt. Not visable from my dash pod opening. I found this main ground bolt using mirrors. The ground connections are OK.

Still searching for my intermittant wiring problem.

You maybe looking for a loose modular connector at this point. Isn't searching for an electrical gremlin fun!

Driver,
I found the problem area. The drive circuit to the AUX Relay in the underhood 'Fuse-Relay' box is the problem. This circuit to this relay coil in intermittent. All dash area power goes through this relay.

Do you know if a wiring diagram from Workhose is available? I am tracing wiring to the key area now.

Correct my above:

AUX Relay should read "ACC RUN RLY" per Workhorse W24 definition.

Broken ground wire found.

Problem: Intermittent dash accessories. Defrost fans, video, winshield wipers, power window, temp/compass and others. These accessories are powered from the "ACC RUN" relay.

FOUND: Underhood Fuse-Relay box contains the "ACC RUN" relay, the ground side of this relay coil was found not connected to ground. Tracing this wire from the Fuse-Relay box, the large bundle of wires in the plastic conduit, about 18 in. from the box at a bend >>> ground wire was found frayed open.

Unhappy Dash Pod Ground Bar

I have a 07 Journey 36G with similar problems. Lose dash electronics momentarily when hitting a hard bump in the road. Lose rdo, tac, speedo, Cruise control, head lights etc. Its on a freighliner chassis. Any suggestions? took it to freightliner dealer and they could not find anything after several hundred dollars(hours) of troubleshooting. On the return trip home it went out a dozen times. I need to get it fixed. Not sure where the grounds are located. Checked all battery connections. Called Freightliner and they recommended I check ground near steering coupling to Axle on the frame and a ground near the right side of generator. I will do that over the weekend if can find the locations. Any other suggestions??
