Dash Heater Core Leaking

If that's true, what's your opinion on adding some type of grounding strap to my 10 year old non-leaking core? I can only say that when I called SCS Fridgette to order my new core, they advised me to ground it to the chassis. I did in 2006 when I replaced the core. Holding my breath and hoping it holds.
