Crazy Air Bag Warning
My buddy has a 2002 Winnie Journey DL His rig has a Freightliner chassis and a Cat powerplant
His low pressure light is on, along with his warning buzzer. Yet his gauge reads the air is maxed out on the one side and normal on the other.
Is this simply a gauge gone bad?
Any help would be appreciated.

The maxed out gauge, if electric, is a clue that the sender is bad or has a bad connection.

Tell your buddy to call 1.800.FTL.HELP have his v.i.n. number ready. If he doesn't get through leave a message as they pride themselves on 100% call back.

Have the tanks ever been blown out with the landyard? When was the last time the air dryer was serviced?

Thanks to all of you for your responses. We will blow the tanks via the lanyards today, and the desiccant cartridge will be replaced as well.
We had already pulled the connections apart and cleaned them, scuffed them up a bit and re-connected them without success.
I will post our results here in this comment section tonight or tomorrow morning.
Thanks again. Truly appreciated.

You might temporally try switching wires to the gauges to test them.

Change of plans
We had to change our plans on repairs to the rig due to weather. Very high winds, and cold temps kept these two old guys from their appointed rounds.
Hopefully, we can do an update soon.
Keep the ideas coming though, we are reading all of them.

Apologies for the VERY late update. Lots of reasons we have been delayed getting this done. Mostly LIFE stuff, and one death in the family.
Tanks have been drained via the lanyard, and the dryer has been serviced. Still have the same problem. We plan on taking Ray,IN 's advice and switch the wires. That would give us some indication as to where to go next.
Thanks once again for all your help.

Cold solder joints in the Vehicle Data Unit (VDU) are a known problem in that era Freightliner chassis. It causes all sorts of symptoms in the gauges. Take a look at the 2nd PDF supplied by Skip426 above.
