Bicycle rack attached to View 24G rear slideout?

Somewhere I saw a video of a new View 24G with a bicycle rack mounted directly to the rear slideout. I am curious about any retrofit available for a 2015 24G. I currently have a receiver mounted bike rack that tilts down to clear the slide when it's extended. Does anyone have info on where this rack can be found and if it can be used on my View?

I'm also concerned about adding weight cantilevered off the back of the slide when it's opening and closing, but if the new ones come with this option, then perhaps it's okay?

I am setting up for a toad and I'm not sure my current rack will be compatible with a toad if I get a dual hitch extender. Alternatively, has anyone added a receiver on the front of a View and carried 2 bicycles in front of the unit?

Considering the "delicate and fussy nature" of the slide mechanism...... I would not. Put your bikes on your toad.....

I can't offer you much help but I have seen a 24G with bikes being carried up front, in front of the grill. It was in passing and I didn't note what kind of setup it was.

Also, the factory bike rack is pretty simple and produced by FIAMMA. I'd ask a dealer with a really good reputation or Winnebago whether or not this would be OK for mounting on the rear slide.

Thanks for the replies. Since this is our toad, I don't want to put a bike rack on it so I'll either see how a dual hitch extender works or explore the front rack.

What was involved in setting up the 2006 Miata for flat towing? Standard transmission? Tow Bar Base Plate? Any transmission pump or drive line disconnect?

Easy set up with a Roadmaster Sterling All Terrain tow bar. I had a shop install the attachments to the car and they are barely visible. The base plate is detachable. It is a manual transmission. I did add a battery disconnect, but no other mods needed. (Rockets not included in kit.)

I have a 24G and I am going to try a drop to lower the hitch for the bike rack. Not sure if it will clear yet.

This one attaches to the tow bar and has been great. Don't have the G but a J no rear slide. You would have to remove bikes and drop the center bar but would be doable.

I lowered the hitch with a drop insert and now I can open the rear slide without removing the bike. It gave me about an inch of clearance.

Please let me know where you found a bike rack for your 24g that allows for the rear slideout to be extended without having to remove the bikes when you reach your destination. Please also let me know if and when you find a new bike rack for the 24g rear slideout that can be used in conjunction with a towing setup.

What and where did you find the bike rack that will clear the slideout with a drop-down hitch? Is it working well?

I should add that it works very well. No need to remove the bikes, just release the lever and lower the bikes to about 45 degrees from horizontal. I first tried a swing-away rack, but it did not swing far enough out of the way to clear the slide.

I've been looking for a rack on the back of our Vista 26. It seems that all bike racks are not designed to be used on the back of a motor home. Swagman has one of two. Many of vendors I contacted did no recommend their product for use on the back of a motor home. The problem seemed to be that large amount of motion from bumps etc put a strain on the mount. Check with the vendor before purchasing.

I used a drop down hitch to clear the slide out. The rack I have is for a tandem bike so that would not help you. The drop hitch is Blue OX 8 inch
