Atwood water heater not working on 115 volts

Here is where I am at. I have 12 volts (yellow wire) coming from the wall switch for 115 volt operation. That connects to pig tail connector on the WH. It then becomes a orange wire that goes to the circuit board. The yellow wire comes from the circuit board to the 115 volt relay for the heater. 12 volts goes into the orange wire on the circuit board but does not make it out on the yellow wire to the relay .What is going on in the circuit board?
Why is the circuit board even in the loop?
Hope someone knows the answer.
Thanks for looking

Ok, I realize now that it goes through the circuit board to allow the the thermostat to control the temp.
Guess the circuit board must be bad. Don't know what is in there so hard to test.
Any thoughts.

Creede-

There are dozens of posts like these from "Old-Biscuit" over on iRV2.com:

Atwood water heater won't stay lit. - iRV2 Forums

If the diagram at that post does not help you figure out the problem, then maybe you should post on iRV2.com. It won't take long for "Old-Biscuit" to respond.

Thanks Mark. I will check into that forum.
It is the electric that does not work.

Yes, I was in a hurry to respond, and did not sift through "Old-Biscuit's" posts to find the ones where he addresses failures on the electric side. On Atwood heaters post-2004, the controls for gas and electric are common.

To that end, here is a link to a search of iRV2 posts that may apply.

The most common failure on the electric side appears to be a burned-out electric heating element. The element quickly burns out if someone turns on the electric side when the water heater tank is empty. The effort to replace the element depends on your water heater installation.
