Anyone have this style dinette table? (that works)

Not the greatest picture but you can see it's a telescoping table. There is a clamp on each telescoping part that are supposed to hold it into position.. only they don't. It slowly lowers. The previous owner put those hose clamps around the two joints to prevent it from lowering on it's own. I thought they looked too tacky so I put quick release pins in. There seems to be some sort of piston in the middle of the post but I haven't taken it apart to see what's going on with it.

My question is.. is there a gas charged shock in there or something to help raise it up? Perhaps mine is pooped out?
I've lowered mine and it's a bear to get it back up. I'm thinking a linear actuator is in the near future.

I have not seen a table like that but the pins never fail. What ever is inside is maybe the reason it is hard to get back up as well.

I have that same table in my 2015 Sunova 30A and have not had a problem with it. Just checked the on-line build sheet for my coach with Winnebago and found the part number for the Pedestal/Table AIR ASSIST is #168099-01-01A.
Also mentions that if "clamp is loose try tightening clamp nut" this may help with it dropping but will not help raising the table. I would suggest that you contact Winnebago Customer Service directly to see if the "Air Assist" cylinder is available as a separate part and if not they might give you the name of the manufacturer so that you can do some research to buy it direct from them. I have found them very helpful in matters such as this.

You may find that the table pedestal was made by Springfield Marine Co. www.springfieldgrp.com

BTW..... To find all the items/parts used in your Sunova go to the Winnebago Web Site /Service Parts List- plug in your model year and the last 5 digits of your Winnebago serial number and you will be surprised what pops up.

Where are you located ?

edit: OMG!!! Ok, so I found the air assist shock. I'm thinking a linear actuator and a switch is definitely going in next week.

It looks like it's just the pedestal and air shock. I can't find the shock by itself but I did write Winnie and ask.

The pedestal is indeed made by Springfield Marine. Their part number is 1660230. There are two adjustments - one is to tighten the clamp (do this while in the released position). The other takes more work. Remove the table top and at the top of the pedestal there are three screws - tighten them - then reattach the table. If neither of these work and your rig is less than 5 years old (their warranty period) you may be able to get Springfield to replace/repair the pedestal. If not you can find a new one for around $350 on-line.

Had the same problem where the table would not raise easily after having used it the night before as a bed. I simply used a light oil and lubed just above both clamps, problem solved!

Thanks. I tried that too. It didn't help. I was able to contact Springfield and arrange for a warranty repair or replacement. I'm going to send it in after memorial day weekend. I'll post up the results.

Thank You Chabago and CFSunrise! Springfield replaced my pedestal. All I had to pay was shipping. Can't wait to get it in and actual USE the feature.

I am glad this worked out for you. When I had mine replaced I was thrilled by how much better the updated version worked. I hope you have a similar experience.

When you've released the clamps on the pedestal, does the table rise to the full upright position through the use of the actuator inside the table pedestal?

I notice that after a day or two of use, the table lowers itself an inch. I loosen the clamps, and manually lift the table to its full upright position and close the clamps.

Wondering if I should remove the pedestal from my 2013 30A and send back to Springfield Marine.

Yes. It lifts with a 'little help' to the full extent. Then lock it. If your locks aren't holding it, tighten the nut a little on the clamp. My table has been holding up since they replaced it. I put it up/down often too.
