Ok I know one of you will have the answer to this one. I have a AE Weather Pro power awning on my 2006 Journey 39K. Works great, one problem. For no reason the awning will close. It only happens when its sunny. No wind involved. After a few minutes I can put it back out and it will stay. If I put it out to soon after closeing it will close itself again. Never does it when it's cloudy or when I turn the automatic close off. Ok Ladies and gentlemen lets have your ideas before I call AE.

I believe that there is a fix out there by the Mfg. which involves putting a piece of aluminum tape over the top of the wind sensor to reflect the heat from the sun. I am not sure the reason that the sun (heat) causes the roll up but check it out with A&E. They have always been helpful with my issues.

The wind sensor is designed to allow air to pass across sensor probe. The sensor will only function correctly
if the airway to the sensing probe is clear. Check the airway clear to make sure it's free of dust, insects, ice, snow, leaves, or other debris. The sensing probe can be cleaned with a mild soap solution and a small soft bristle brush.

I'm not saying this is your problem but keep in mind the awning is not intended for cold weather operation and is supposed to automatically close when outside temperature reaches 32?.

Again, thanks to all for the great info on my A&E. I was not aware of the cold closeing the awning.

Mine will close with the slightest breeze. I read once that there is an adjuster someplace but I don't remember where it is or how to adjust it. Any suggestions?

I copied the following from a post by Red T on this bulletin board some time ago ...

~~~~~~start from Red T Glendale AZ~~~~~~~
<span class="ev_code_Blue">
Not sure this is applicable to newer installations (mine is a 2004 Meridian) but this works for me:
Remove the 4 screws on the "Black Box"
On the circuit board is a module with little white DIP switches on it.
If all switches are off, the unit is set to react to an 18 mph wind.
Turn the power off to the Black Box.
#2 ON will add 3 mph to the 18 mph setting.
#3 ON will add 6 mph to the 18 mph setting.
2 & 4 ON will lower the setting 3 mph from 18 mph.
3 & 4 ON will lower the setting 6 mph from 18 mph.
Be sure the switches are completely FULL ON or FULL OFF (full up or full down), not in the middle.
Turn the power back on and see what happens.
I found that 2 & 4 ON and the rest OFF works for me.
Red: Can you post that link here? There is additional information on the sensor, the reason it's happening, and the fix.
