The electric door awning on my 08 Ellipse does not quite come in far enough to tighten up the cover. In windy conditions or driving on patchy pavement I can here it banging. Has anyone else experienced this. The awning is a model 975 and does not have a manual crank.

The one on my Vectra doesn't close properly either. But if I "cycle" it a couple of times it works OK. It's slightly out of alignment - as a result of stupid me driving about a mile with the awning out. :clumsy:

If the outer case (awning) is not centered in the mount (the part attached to the coach), it won't retract fully.

If you open the awning, notice the attachment points on the arms at the mount - mine says "dual shock absorber" of something like that.

There are two sew screws on each arm mount - loosen these and you can slide the entire awning fore and aft to center it.

John, when my awning is rolled out the right side is 1/4 inch longer than the left side, When I roll it in the right side does not tighten up as much as the leftside also there is a 1/8 inch gap on the left side and 3/8 inch on the right side when the awing is closed. Does this look like the right arm should be moved slightly to the right (out) ?

Is there a adjustable limit switch for the awning motor?

Ouch - I just noticed some typos in my earlier post

Sorry - don't think moving the awning fore or aft will have any effect on your problem. Unfortunately Dometic (A&E) makes it virtually impossible for a customer to actually talk to somebody that has a clue about product troubleshooting.

Unless you can figure out the problem, you might need to get the coach to a Dometic dealer that does awnings.

Applejack, have you tried using some dri-silicone to lubricate the latch and cover assmby? I would try that first. Good luck and keep us posted.
