3126E Cat radiator cap

On my 02 journey 36 GD with the Cat 3126 E engine there is a pressurized plastic surge tank above the radiator. Does anyone who has this set up know the pressure rating of the radiator cap ?. I can't read the number on mine. Thks. Rkl

I have the same surge tank and engine. My cap has 13 lbs. stamped into the metal of the cap.

Most car rads are pressurized to 15 lbs.

I replaced the surge tank last year and it came with a 15 lb rad cap. Couldn't read what the old one said but a call to Freightliner confirmed that the new tank does indeed use the 15 lb cap. Didn't have any reason to believe that the old one was any different. BTW that call to Freightliner also resulted in learning that despite all the documentation I have on the engine being a 3126E it's actually a 3126B. You might want to call them to confirm the engine model.

OK mine is a 2003 Journey 330HP Cat 36GD and the cap is 13lbs. Keep an eye on the plastic expansion tank they go south from the sun beating on them. I replaced mine in San Francisco and when I got home to NJ I put a rubber flap over it to keep the sun off.
