2019 Vista 29VE Hub Cap Removal

Is there any secret to removing the Hub caps? I tried with a crow bar but didn't get far because it resisted me and I was concerned I would damage the caps.

High and congrats on your new Vista MH.

I don’t have any knowledge of how this works on a Vista but usually WBGO puts all of this info in the extensive packet of owners manuals.

I know on some RVs one of the lug nut covers is screwed on to hold the cover in place. If that’s the case you should have a special tool in one of your storage compartments. Mind you not all RVs with simulators use this method.

Again check your manuals.

(There's a few variations of what the simulator nut actually attaches to. Mine goes directly to the Ford stud. The one in the video is different. Removes the same though.)

All of the nuts on the hup cap except two don't come off, they are decorative. If you try to turn the decorative ones they will break off. The two that hold it on have long "dimples" on their sides. I use a 1 1/8" deep socket on them. The nuts that only hold on the hubcaps don't need to be on very tight .

I wish mine were attached like that. I suspect I have the same kind of simulators on my 27Q as Noah has which require a lot of finesse using a medium-size prybar.

Thank all of you. I did look in all the manuals. No-where did I see how to take off the hub caps. Now I can. :-)

If they are like mine on my 26he there are TWO of the fake lug nuts that unscrew with the wrench they send ...then the wheel cover comes right off..
The two have a minus sign crease in them and they are opposite one another

Take a look in your storage bays for a silver or black lug wrench. It should look like what your car comes with but with a much larger socket. This should remove the lug nuts that are meant to be removed

Vista Hub Caps

all, yes, two of the lugs on the crome cover, are actual lugs. check for markings on the sides of the lugs. the two will be directly opposite from each other.

If you tap on the lugs lightly you will hear a difference in the sound the two removable solid ones make

Hubcaps

Hi. I have a 2013 Vista. The info on removal was found in my “Ford” owners manual. Nowhere could I see it in the Winnibago manuals.
