Tow Bar Specs and limitations

Hello,

I'm looking into setting up my Jeep TJ for flat towing and while looking into the different types of tow bars like Smittybilt, Blue Ox adventurer, Curt, etc.
I've read that these fixed steel tow bars have low speed ratings like under 55mph.

Is anyone using this type of tow bar for towing distances at higher speeds.
I know that I'm going hear from some of you that you get what you pay for and I agree.
But the difference of price from $100-$300 to $700-$1200 seems a bit drastic and substantial.

Thanks
John

Tow Bar Specs and limitations

Hello Cager,
I ended up buying a used BlueOX Aventa tow bar and a Roadmaster High-Low Adapter to raise the receiver 6" from the coach. I'll use the bolt on BloeOx adapters for the aftermarket Wrangler bumper.
I contacted ReadyBrake and they confirmed this configuration was acceptable as long your tow bar is +\- 2" from level to the mounting location on the "toad" vehicle.

For the braking system I bought the ReadyBrake system. It arrived last night and plan on doing the install soon.
I'll update this post with my feedback on the installation with pictures.
