Newbie Toad Towing Question

I have a new (to us) 2016 Sunstar 27N that I want to tow my 2012 Ford Fiesta behind. Our long driveway has two concrete pillars on each side that I have to swing wide, into oncoming traffic in order for the RV to pass through. If I'm towing my toad behind the MH when I exit, should I expect the toad to clear the pillars if my MH does? Or should I find some other straight section of road to hook up the toad after exiting the driveway? I don't have a lot of experience towing vehicles, that's why I ask.

I've found that the car tracks nearly/neatly directly behind our coach. Not sure how much overhand you have behind your rear tires (we have 12 feet that translates to 4' tail wag, I believe) but that's the swing that I'd be worries about. We took a driving class and were told to turn after you hip passes the object you don't want to hit but then you need to worry about the tail swing not coming into contact with the other side.

I'd say exit the same way that you always do but watch in the camera (do you have one?) the first time out. My guess is you will see no difference. That said I can hook up the car (blue ox system) in about 4 minutes so your option of locating a hookup point isn't a bad idea either. The piece of mind vs the 4-5 minutes of time may be a good trade off.

This is our first motorhome after over 30 years of TTs and 5ers, I was concerned about the same thing. The first thing we did after I got the car set up was to go to a large parking lot when the store was closed (yes some still close on Sunday in Lancaster county) I maneuvered it around the lot and took notice of how the car tracked using the lines in the lot as guides. I did notice the car will track to the inside of a curve on the back wheels, but only by a 2 or 3 inches. I suppose each rig may be different because of wheelbase, overhang, car length, etc..??.. At least now we know...
