Minnie Winnie and 2016 2 Door Wrangler

The Minnie Winnie 31G is on order and the 2016 Wrangler is on its way. Does anyone else have this set up? I am researching the Tow set up and I am wondering if I need a Hitch Drop or Rise. Thanks for any help.

We have a 2016 Wrangler and the Blue Ox tow bracket is about 17" off the ground. Other brackets may vary. If you can find out your hitch height you'll know if you need a rise or drop hitch.

Thanks, I may have the Jeep next week and may go for a ride to dealer and get the measurements I need.

Enjoy! That's the identical layout to our Class A (31BE).

Hello,

Sorry to re-kindle and old thread, but we just picked up our 2019 31G and I've towed my 4 door JK. I have a nice bumper which connects to the motorhome with a blue ox bar. I noticed that the Jeep wanted to move around some behind the motorhome and required me to fight a bit with the steering wheel. Have you had any issues towing yours? I'm wondering if I need another piece of equipment that would make towing it easier.

What year is your Jeep? Do you have a base plate on it?

My Jeep is a 2016 Rubicon. Instead of the standard baseplate, I went with an aftermarket steel bumper with the blue ox plates mounting directly to the frame horns. My towbar is the blue ox 10,000# capacity bar.

May have something to do with the aftermarket bumper. We use the correct Blue Ox baseplate for the 2016 Jeep wrangler unlimited and have had no issues. Tows like a dream.

Mlewis, I too get some wander. I used the Currie Enterprise base plate with a Ready Brute Elite tow bar. I have checked my alignment, dead nuts from factory. Weighed my unit and adjusted air pressure in tires, dropped 5 lbs. front and back.

What I have noticed is that in good conditions, no wind no trucks, mine handles fine. If there is any wind or even a pick up truck passes me I am adjusting steering. I can live with this for now, we are driving a big box down the road. I may try sway bars, shocks, steering stabilizers down the road but honestly I do not want to spend anymore money right now.

Let me know if you find anything that helps you.
