Road from Moab to Monument Valley

All,

Heading west tomorrow, spending seven or eight days in Moab. Thinking of adding Monument Valley (John Wayne and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon). How is the route south and Goulding's RV Park. Running a 36' Journey and pulling our jeep.

Thanks

That is a beautiful area and the road is very doable. We just did that area last summer and had no issues at all. We stayed at Gouldings RV park. Be sure to make the quick trip up north of there and see Gooseneck State Park.

We stay at Spanish Trail on the south end. The ride to MV is breathtaking! There is a LOT to do in Moab. We have been there three times and have plans to revisit this August.

I can ecco this recommendation 110%. This place is not only spectacular but also offers free camping (boondocking). This is high on my "must do again someday" list.

There are so many places to visit along the way, you may need to stretch travel time.

We drove through there for years on our way down to AZ. It is a beautiful drive and the view from Gouldings is also great.

Regarding Gouldings - we will no longer stay there. It is pricey about - $45 as I recall - and the last time we stayed there the staff was rude and surly and I had a heck of a time getting a site that was level enough for my hydraulic levelers to level the coach. In years past the sites were fairly level but something either changed or all level sites were full. We now stay in Bluff or Blanding for a lot less money (about $28 per night).

Yup, you are definately paying for the views, which are spectacular...
