I will be there as soon as the weather lets us leave the first week in January. We will spend a couple weeks west of Quartzsite at Dome Rock mountain and then move to the La Posa south LTVA. Then in February we will move south to north of Yuma to the Imperial Dam LTVA.

We plan in being there, for the first time, sometime in mid to late January. No other specifics yet.

I spend the entire winter out there. Somewhere within 100 miles, but Q is our home base. We get a PO Box there. We usually camped Scaddan Wash which is east and south of I10.

Do a lot of atv riding there.

Norm3205,
If it's your 1st time, try to make during the RV Show from Jan 17-25. It gets crowded but the huge variety of stuff to see (at least once in your life) is almost endless.

We will be Jan 17-21 during the first show days. Been to QZ about 5 times and like the BLM area just west of town in the Dome Rock direction.

Maybe us iRV2 folks can organize a get-together for a ?_____? fill in the blank.

Happy Trails,

We hope to be there sometime early January as first timers. I have no idea where to go or what to expect. Should be exciting. Just hope I don't have to chain up to get down there from N. Idaho. I would like to be pulling our trailer and bringing motorcycles but will be pulling the CRV. Maybe see some of you guys down there. Got irv2 stickers on the back of your motorhomes?

Well, because the administrator has now decided to dis-allow any change or update of any post by it's own author, I now will correct my above post in yet another reply to say that this is will be our 3rd time to Q.

(Gee, am I irritated about this change?)

We arrived in Bouse yesterday. Bouse is about 25 miles from Q on highway 72. This is our forth year to stay here.

We are at the Coyote Ridge RV park in site 62 (middle row).
The park is right next to Highway 72 and easy to spot - Bouse is a very small town.

We welcome any of you to stop by and say howdy.

We went into Q yesterday for the "all you can eat fried fish" at the Grubstake. Gas was $1.77 at the Pilot station.

The area Beaudry has been leasing is starting to collect a few vendors. Probably some of the ones chased out when Beaudry leased the strip a couple of years ago. I suppose that is due to the bankruptcy filing.

I didn't see any stock on the LeMesa lot.

There are a few people set up on Plomosa Road.

Looks like a lot of the vendors on west Main street are there.

Thanks for the report, I was hoping to be there by now. Bought a new motorhome, as still waiting to move in. Looks like monday now.

Will be a couple of weeks before we get there. Probably about Christmas time.

So did Beaudry go out of business? I remember going there last year and eating lunch. We were looking then.

I read that they had filed for bankruptcy but I don't know which chapter. I haven't heard if they will continue to operate under protection or if they are liquidating. In any case there is no sign that they will be using the leased area and vendors are setting up in the west end across from Gamblers.

Congratulations on the new rig. Where will you be staying when you get out here?

That is interesting on Beaudry. They had a sign up that looked like they were building a new building on that site or just a little east of there.

We usually stay Scaddan wash which is south of I10 east of town 3/4 mile.

We stay there a while, and then go to the dunes, Lake Havasu, and other places. We usually get a PO Box in Q. We don't move alot before and after the rv show give or take a couple of weeks there.

I like to ride the atv's there.

Jeeperrmartin.....Yes that is part of my problem, I've seen the pictures of Q when the show is in full force. Also got first hand reports from those who have been there. Thus I get a bit sad knowing many are headed that way while I am stuck in Minn for a few more winters. Working for the school system and being off all summer I just can't justify being gone in the winter. A few more years and I'll be there.

Regarding Quartzsite:

We were there for our first time in January 2008. Stayed in the amateur radio area. Nice people, interesting forums. Took a lot of pictures. Ate great Mexican food (a new standard in excellence) in Parker, AZ, which is a few miles north of Q. Traveled up to Lake Havasu City from Parker; scenery is spectacular. We stayed in Q area for only 5 nights. We then retreated to civilization in Buckeye, AZ where there is a very comfortable RV park very near a SuperCenter and a Fry's grocery. If we were to go back to Q (and we just may) we would stay on the north side of town so we could more easily go back to Parker to have great Mexican fare, but we would look into renting a site for a two or three month stay at the Buckeye RV park, then come and go as we wish, perhaps boondocking a week or two, then return to "civilization". It is a great place to enjoy the winter.

Wendell
