power

We just purchased a 2004 Adventurer 35U. I was going to make reservations at the state park and I need to know if i can stay at a site with 30 amp service or if I will need 50 amp. Thanks for your help.

You can stay at either 30 or 50 amp site. If your RV is 50 amp, you will need to do some power management unless you have an EMS to automatically manage the load. (Maybe shutting down an a/c to run the microwave, hairdryer, etc.) Also if your RV is 50 amp and you stay at a 30 amp site, you'll need a "dogbone" connector for your power cord to be able to plug in. The best scenario is 50 amp service for a 50 amp RV.

Your power management system should have 50, 30 and 20 amp settings. Choose whatever matches your hook-ups so your power management system can properly manage things. Personally, most of the sites I've visited (mainly state parks and the like) have only had 30A and 15A service. I think 50A service is relatively rare outside of commercially run RV parks, at least here in northern California.

My 2002 Suncruiser 35U only has 30A, the optional 50A would have been nice to have when the service is available.

You will need some sort of 50 to 30 amp conversion plug, ie Dogbone. https://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb...gbone+50+to+30

Don't use electric for your water heater or fridge. You will need to set your inverter amp draw low and manually manage when you use certain appliances. Experience will teach you what is best for your rig.
