Back on the Bayou

After crossing into Arkansas on Hwy 93 we moved onto Pocahontas, Jonesboro and took Hwy 49 south to avoid Memphis and wound up the night at West Helena Arkansas. It was a long six hour day for us but we have been setting all summer in Missouri and wanted to find warm weather before we slowed down. Read More:

Will be following you on this adventure. In Feb we plan to spend a couple weeks near Galveston and then travel over to Baton Rouge and slowly follow the River Road north. This is one part of the US that we haven't been to and want to explore.

Happy Trails.

We have taken Hwy 61 several times, you can park over night at the Natchez Tourism Dept, just north of the Mississippi River Bridge. Nice little town to explore. Recommend Pig Out BBQ. Last trip we run between Natchez and Vicksburg on the Natchez Trace and found the Rocky Springs free camping spot. Might also consider the Windsor Ruins, north of Natchez. If you get by Vicksburg try the USS Cairo Museum, it right off 61 north of town and its free.
Safe Travels George and Lois
