Angels Camp, CA RV Trip Report

Here's a trip report from our recent trip to the Gold Country in CA, visiting Angels Camp, Murphy's, and Calaveras Big Trees. We hope you enjoy reading about it!

This is one of my favorite parts of California. My mother's family came to Calaveras County during the gold rush and some of my ancestors' pictures are hanging in the Murphy's museum.

If you like lakes and like to fish, New Melones Lake is not too far from Angels Camp. Shore, boat and kayak fishing is good for trout, kokanee, bass, crappie, etc. They have well kept campgrounds with great lake views but there aren't any hookups.

Summers can be pretty hot so spring, fall are best. Winters can also be good with long stretches of mild weather.
