Hood Adhesive failure

Posted 02-14-2024 at 01:15 PM by HiBanky

There are plenty of stories on the Internet about failed adhesive attaching metal parts to fiberglass body panels. In this case, I am referring to the hinges on the front hood that allows access to the generator on my 2005 Journey. One side had completely detached, and the other was loose. It is surprising to me that Winnebago would rely entirely on adhesive for something like this. This is not the only location they did this. I reattached the lower part of the rear cap some time back using Devcon...

Is this a decent buy??

Posted 02-13-2024 at 04:32 PM by WinnebagoPC

Hi all,

I'm a first time Winnie buyer and looking for some assistance. I saw one listed on an auction site called Clasiq. Let me know if you think it's worth a bid and at what price I should stop. It looks to be in perfect condition with only 123k miles. It's also in Vegas so a great vehicle climate, no rust!! My only concern is that its a 2004, is that too old? What are some issues that may come up?

Dish vs Hot Spot vs STARLINK

You can only watch so much caveman TV. That is, if you are a full-timer, sitting in front of a campfire and poking at the half-burned logs eventually becomes unsatisfying. This is when video entertainment becomes kind of important. If you move around a lot, you will find yourself in places that have no over-the-air broadcasting, bad cell service, and too many obstacles to receive Dish satellite signals. There are several ways to improve signal strength with boosters, but if the signal is really...

Fighting the Freeze

Posted 02-02-2024 at 10:24 AM by HiBanky

Most of us that camp during the winter mounts try to avoid cold climates by going south. But when we do find ourselves in freezing temperatures, precautions are necessary to prevent damage to our coach plumbing. Most vulnerable to icing up is the shore line and the attached plumbing in the service compartment. On more than a couple of occasions I found myself out in the cold and dark unscrewing hoses, filters, and pressure gauges to avoid frosting up.

My solution to this was to bring...

Gassing the Squirrels

Safety first !! If you are not certified to plumb LP gas, take it to someone who is.

In my view, a gas grill is an essential part of camping and although some would say that charcoal is better, I'll take convenience over taste. In order to maximize this concept of convenience, I have devised a way to tap into the main gas source in my motorhome. My first solution utilized the pressure regulator that came attached to the grill requiring a connection to the high-pressure side of the...
