1992 Elante Project Rebuild

Posted 08-16-2018 at 07:18 AM by Lightfoot54

It is finally water tight so I no longer have to keep a tarp over it. The filon sheet was rolled up and first tucked under the rear lip. Then contact cement was applied to the outside of the roll and to about 4 feet of the plywood. After the glue tacked, 20 minutes, that 4 feet was rolled down and compressed. It took all day to do the whole thing 4 feet at a time. The whiteness of it is intense. I had turquoise circles in my peripheral vision after doing it. There are bacon wrinkles along the edges because the plywood surface was not exactly laser flat. Those wrinkles were filled with spray foam so they are solid and don't flex. The perimeter was then sealed with tape.

The hoop is easy to work around. I shoot free throws to wind down after work.
