On the road, technical difficulties

Posted 05-31-2018 at 10:03 AM by Mfprind

We went on a road trip to get ready for the kids coming in just a couple of days. We stopped for gas and after topping off the tank attempted to restart, nodda, that is, the motor turned over, but no start. I sprayed starter fluid into the carb. It burned the fluid, but would not start. That was last eve, now how many hours later we are waiting on a mobile mechanic. It should be simple.. Any ideas? Ever happen to you? Thank you..

Posted 05-22-2018 at 09:37 AM by Mfprind

It has compression fittings and finding any matching parts is difficult. I have a friend who could prob help but add we have already wasted several days we are looking to get it done by a pro. We are causing water damage on the wood floor with our failed attempts. If anyone has done a similar project and has any suggestions, feel...

Final preparations

Posted 05-17-2018 at 07:11 AM by Mfprind

Cleaning up, getting the rig ready for the trip.
Eventually we want to replace the light covers in the back for the tail lights. One is cracked and has been repaired, it doesn't allow all of the light as the glue they used darkened the plastic a little. I did replace the original taillight, blinker bulbs with the one brighter Sylvania bulbs, without doing any mods on the system.
I would like to replace with original shields eventually, has anyone done this

Restoration of Decals

Posted 05-10-2018 at 09:20 PM by Father Mike

When we saw that the exterior decals on our 1986 Winnebago Chieftain were faded and we could no longer locate replacements...we had to figure out the least expensive and simple way to restore them. After a lot of prayer and thinking about it, we went to Home Depot and decided on using their Marquis Brand Exterior Paint! It is made for outside doors and shutters, primer is included, great RV/fade protection...it sounded excellent! I used the blue 3m tape to mask off the decals and a small camel...
